Frequently asked questions

How many questions are on the CRCST exam?

The CRCST exam has 150 multiple-choice questions — 125 scored and 25 unscored pretest questions. You have 3 hours to complete it.

When can I take the exam?

Year-round. Once HSPA approves your application you get a 90-day testing window and schedule on demand at a Prometric testing center near you.

What happens if I fail?

There is a mandatory six-week waiting period before you can retake the exam, and you'll pay the exam fee again — which is exactly why practicing until your readiness score says you're ready is worth it.

Are these real exam questions?

No — and be careful with any site that claims otherwise. Using real (recalled) exam questions violates HSPA's policies and can jeopardize your certification. Every question here is original, written from the publicly available exam content outline.
